The Story in Brief

Everything Will Be OK — Building Bridges Through War, Crisis, and Chaos is the true story of Alex Fox — born in Ukraine, raised in Italy — who took a one-way flight from Rome to Kyiv in January 2014, during Maidan, and turned an 1882 Austro-Hungarian book factory in Lviv into the OK Factory hub. From EURO 2012 and a BlaBlaCar proposal that was turned down and framed, to the local operations of Ernest Airlines (financed by a Minecraft co-founder, led by former Armani management) — the book moves in three parts: The Foundations, The Transformation, The Impact and the Future.

When the licence was revoked and COVID closed the skies in March 2020, Alex kept the team and pivoted — a first big order of medical clothing flown to Canada became the first prototype of a marketplace. In February 2022, in the Canary Islands, an English investor called it “Alibaba of Ukraine”; weeks later, at 4 a.m. on 24 February, the war began. BRAVE rose from Lviv’s former #1 TripAdvisor nightclub — generators, Starlink, bunker — and there Faktorist took its full form: an H2H (Human to Human) B2B marketplace for Ukrainian producers. The UAmbassadors program turns the diaspora into a commercial network — up to half of Faktorist’s commission for whoever introduces a client — on a counterintuitive principle: passion beats competence.

Written largely during blackouts, by candlelight, between air-raid sirens, the book ends in Rome at the Ukraine Recovery Conference, June 2025 — and stops at the best part. Chapter 16 keeps writing itself online. Every copy includes a Bridge Certificate linking the reader to a real Ukrainian producer. “Everything Will Be OK” is not an expression of blind optimism. It is a declaration of war against the impossible.

About the Author

👤

Alex Fox

Born in Ukraine, Raised in Italy — Entrepreneur & Bridge Builder

Alex Fox is an entrepreneur born in Ukraine and raised in Italy — mainly in the Veneto, then Milan and Lake Como, and a year in Rome. Alex Fox is his international alter ego, the pen name of this story. In January 2014 he moved to Ukraine and, with his partner Mark, turned a historic 1882 Austro-Hungarian book factory in Lviv into OK Factory — an innovation hub and coworking space. The first coworker was James from Australia. A cat named Jira became “Senior Kat Advisor”.

He led the local operations of Ernest Airlines (2016–2020), an airline connecting Ukraine with Western Europe, financed by a Minecraft co-founder and led by former Armani management. After the pandemic grounded it, he founded Faktorist — the “Alibaba of Ukraine” — the platform that connects Ukrainian producers to global markets, built in large part during the war. SofiIA — Sofia, Greek for “wisdom”, and IA, the way Italian writes “AI”, flipped — is its AI, and the first AI native to a book.

He created the UAmbassadors program, which invites the diaspora — more than ten million Ukrainians abroad — and anyone who believes in human connections to introduce clients and share in the profits. The War-Life-Balance framework — three pillars: infrastructural, emotional and strategic resilience — was born working by candlelight during the blackouts. He speaks six languages, takes the stage at international conferences on War-Life-Balance and economic resilience, and lives between Lviv and Italy. This is his first book.

“‘Everything Will Be OK’ is not an optimistic prediction about the future. It is a promise to do everything necessary to create the best possible outcome from the circumstances we have.” — from the Conclusion.
